The Historic Sports Car Club will continue its 50th anniversary celebrations at the Oulton Park Gold Cup on August Bank Holiday Weekend (27-29 August). The Gold Cup has been a mainstay of the HSCC calendar for several years now, and it has produced a special race programme for the weekend which includes a number of returning categories which haven’t featured in recent seasons.
This stunning line-up includes the return of the Historic Grand Prix Car Association (HGPCA) to the event, recalling the early years of the Gold Cup, in which classically-modelled F1 cars from Lotus, Brabham, and Cooper battled for the trophy.
Another returning favourite will be the Super Touring Car Challenge which recalls the fierce British Touring Car Championship battles of the ‘90s when the world’s biggest manufacturers fought for badge honour with star drivers.
Other highlights will include the Jaguar Classic Challenge, which promotes the heritage of one of Britain’s greatest sports car manufacturers, whilst other HSCC categories such as the Historic Touring Cars and Historic Formula Ford can always be relied upon to produce great entertainment.
Plus, there will be plenty to see and do off the circuit as hundreds of classic car owners descend on the venue to create a retro vibe amongst a selection of other nostalgic attractions!
Tickets for the Oulton Park Gold Cup are available online in advance for £19 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
