Oulton Park’s signature Gold Cup historic weekend returns on its traditional August Bank Holiday date (26-28 August) next month, with three days of retro racing entertainment, and an off-track backdrop to match.
The Gold Cup is one of the highlights of the historic motor racing season, as classic racing cars of all shapes and sizes descend upon the picturesque Little Budworth circuit, which remains one of the country’s great old-school driving challenges.
Highlights of this year’s Gold Cup will include nostalgic race programme from the Historic Sports Car Club, which is set to include everything from powerful Formula 5000 single-seaters, to touring cars, with plenty of sports cars and GTs too. This will include the awarding of the Historic Gold Cup – the biggest trophy on offer across the weekend.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the race action, the venue’s rolling green parkland surrounds will be filled with classic cars to create one of the biggest displays of its kind in northern England. You can expect to see a wide range of cars appear on both Sunday and Monday, ranging from British built Lotuses and Morgans to Italian Alfa Romeos. These off-track displays will be complemented by a concours competition on the Sunday and a supercar showcase on the Monday.
Other displays will include military vehicle line-ups as the venue revisits past as a US army staging camp, whilst a civil war living diorama will take you even further back into the past.
Plus, there will be live music, artisan trade stands, vintage bus tours, and much more!
Tickets for the Oulton Park Gold Cup on 26-28 August are available in advance from £19 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
